Florence 2016

ITALY

I first came to Italy in January of 2016 for a study abroad program in Florence. From the minute I walked through the narrow streets and gazed on the Duomo, I knew I was in love. I took classes at Istituto Lorenzo de’ Medici as part of my university's partnership with the school. I was very fortunate to get to travel tho several places within Italy and across the borders while I was there. Florence will always have the number one place in my heart but, Cinque Terre is a close second. There was no street unexplored, no gelato not sampled. no pasta not eaten.

Ever since I left Florence, I had been trying to figure out a way to get back. In 2019, I found a TEFL course offered through Via Lingua at their Florence branch and the rest is history. In this intensive, month-long course I became better aware of my strengths and weaknesses as an educator, developed skills that will help me with all my future endeavors and made some of the best friends I have ever had.
